National Soybean Laboratory iSEE Classroom
The University of Illinois retained Reifsteck Wakefield Fanning for the design and construction of new classrooms in the National Soybean Laboratory. The spaces will be used by the Institute for the Sustainability, Energy and Environment (iSEE). The iSEE is dedicated to conducting actionable, interdisciplinary research to address fundamental challenges in sustainability, energy and environment; to provide leadership in these areas though interdisciplinary education; and to develop and implement strategies for a sustainable environment on the University of Illinois campus and beyond.
The project creates three new classroom/work spaces. One space is an active learning/collaborative classroom for 36-40 students. The second space is a media and communications lab with the possibility of a video recording studio. The third space is an office area with four workstations for visiting scholars and professors.
