Spaces | St Joseph Park District

With the development of a new park on St Joseph’s east side, the Park District was in need of a concession and restroom facility to support the football, baseball and softball fields, basketball and tennis courts, and playgrounds. The building design included a pavilion for covered seating, large kitchen for concession equipment, pantry, integral restrooms, and storage space for their athletic equipment. Separate concession areas were provided to better account for concession responsibility and income.

RWF worked closely with Park District trustees and volunteers to address the various needs. As architects we were mindful of a limited budget and that portions of the pavilion were to be constructed with a volunteer labor force.
