Spaces | Beckman Institute Animal MRI Laboratory

A MRI suite at the Beckman Institute is helping the University of Illinois lead the way in brain research. Reifsteck Wakefield designed the space to house a 9.4T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment, a control room, a procedures lab, and adjoining mechanical and electrical spaces. The design also included necessary shielding for safe operation of the MRI equipment. The MRI allows for the study of brain development and brain health in small animals.
